Organizer for the Pet Cloning argument paper

Introduction:

What is the context?  Why is the subject controversial?

State the counterclaim and then the claim

Paragraph 1:

Discuss the counterclaim.  Why is it valid?  Why, though, is it not enough to go to that side of the argument?

Be sure to use text evidence (a quote) and use the process of context / quote /  connection to claim.

Paragraph 2:

Now, discuss the point you ranked first on your plan sheet.

Be sure to use text evidence (a quote) and use the process of context / quote /  connection to claim.

Paragraph 3:

Next, discuss the point you ranked second on your plan sheet.

Be sure to use text evidence (a quote) and use the process of context / quote /  connection to claim.

Conclusion:

Tell the reader why YOUR TWO POINTS outweigh the counterclaim.


When you proofread, check your word choice-- is it clear and factual when you are using examples from the text?  Is it full of emotion (connotation) when you are trying to convince the reader that your side is the correct side?

Here is what we've determined so far:

O:  Concession speech at the New Yorker Hotel (NYC) on November 9, 2016

A:  toward her subject--  sad; hopeful the country will come together

      toward her audience-- thankful

P:  to thank her supporters AND to convince the country to come together

S:  repetition (thankful); pathos/ emotional appeal (bring people together)
